Plain Gut sutures are made from purified collagen derived from healthy mammals, ensuring a dependable and predictable absorption with high tensile strength. In the oral cavity, they typically begin to break down enzymatically within 5 to 7 days, with full resorption usually occurring by 7 to 10 days. This makes them ideal for wounds expected to heal rapidly or where follow-up suture removal is not practical.
